Visa Sponsorship Information

Visa sponsorship for ordinary housekeeping work in Denmark is limited. Many cleaning roles are filled locally or by EU/EEA workers, and a standard job offer does not automatically qualify a non-EU applicant for a residence and work permit.

Applicants should review the following criteria:

  • Receive a genuine employment offer and signed contract from a registered Danish employer.

  • Confirm that the role qualifies under a current Danish work-permit route, such as the Positive List or an applicable salary-based scheme.

  • Meet the salary and employment conditions of the relevant permit route.

  • The 2026 Pay Limit Scheme threshold is DKK 552,000 per year, or DKK 46,000 per month, which is substantially above ordinary housekeeping pay.nyidanmark+1

  • The Supplementary Pay Limit Scheme threshold is DKK 446,000 per year, or approximately DKK 37,167 per month, also above the salary normally offered for housekeeping work.kpmg+1

  • Provide a valid passport, employment contract, references, and evidence of relevant experience or qualifications.

  • Meet any Danish-language, health, identity, or sector-specific requirements connected to the job.

  • Apply through the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration, SIRI, or the relevant official process before beginning work.

  • Confirm the current Positive List and permit rules before paying fees or relying on a sponsorship claim.

  • Do not pay an agency for a guaranteed Danish visa or job placement.
