About the Role
We are seeking reliable housekeepers to maintain clean, comfortable, and welcoming spaces in hotels, serviced apartments, private homes, residential facilities, and commercial properties across England.
You will take ownership of assigned rooms or work areas, follow agreed cleaning and safety standards, and flag anything that needs attention. Some roles are independent, while others form part of a close-knit housekeeping or facilities team.

What You Will Be Doing

Clean and sanitize bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, offices, guest rooms, and shared spaces.

Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, polish, and maintain floors and surfaces.

Change bed linen, towels, curtains, and other household or hospitality items.

Restock toiletries, cleaning products, paper goods, and guest supplies.

Use vacuums, steam cleaners, laundry equipment, and cleaning chemicals safely.

Inspect rooms and report maintenance issues, damaged items, hazards, or missing supplies.

Sort, wash, dry, fold, iron, and organize laundry when required.

Communicate professionally with guests, clients, supervisors, property managers, and maintenance teams.
Requirements
Must Have

Experience in housekeeping, hotel cleaning, domestic cleaning, janitorial work, or facilities services.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow cleaning checklists.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move cleaning equipment during a shift.

Basic spoken and written English for safety instructions and workplace communication.

Reliable attendance and flexibility to work scheduled shifts, including weekends where required.

Understanding of hygiene, safe chemical handling, confidentiality, and workplace safety.

Existing legal right to work in the United Kingdom.

Ability to complete identity, right-to-work, reference, and background checks where required.
Nice to Have

Experience in hotels, luxury residences, hospitals, care homes, offices, or serviced apartments.

Familiarity with COSHH procedures and infection-control practices.

Experience using floor buffers, carpet extractors, steam cleaners, or commercial laundry equipment.

Familiarity with hotel property-management systems, digital room checklists, or stock-control tools.

A full UK driving licence for mobile or multi-property assignments.

Additional language skills, particularly Spanish, French, Arabic, or Polish.

Salary Table
The National Living Wage for workers aged 21 and over is £12.71 per hour from 1 April 2026. Recent England-wide salary reporting puts average housekeeper pay at £14.24 per hour, while specialist private-household roles can pay more.gov+2
